Totesport Launch Win Only Up To The Off And
Show+
Date: 5 May 2008
FOLLOWING March’s successful launch of several unique fixed-odds
markets, totesport will today unveil a new place-betting offering as
well as expanding their existing Win Only market.
Phase I of the firm’s Betxtra roll out saw totesport launch Win
Only betting on all UK and Irish races available up until the First
Show.
By going the next-officially recognised price up, totesport have been
top-price or joint top-priced about the majority of horses compared
to other bookmakers.
Head of Racing Craig Reid said: “We initially offered the Win
Only service up until the first show, but from this Saturday we will
also provide customers with a Win Only market from the First Show until
the Off.
“More than 80% of off-course betting takes place between the First
Show and the Off, so we expect a even bigger uplift in turnover than
we have already seen betting up until the First Show.
“We have created a new Win Only price ladder which ensures we
are top-priced on ALL horses against other major bookmakers in the same
show.”
As part of Phase II, Totesport will also expand their existing Place
market to include each-way betting to five and in some cases six places.
Reid added: “Along with Win Only, our Show markets have proved
extremely popular over the past month, so the next obvious step was
to expand the service.
“Our new Show+ market will offer betting to five places on all
18-runner plus handicaps and offer betting to six places on even bigger-field
races such at the Cambridgeshire, Cesarewitch and Grand National.
“The Show+ price will be derived using our existing Show market.”
Totesport also have the facility to offer betting to five places on
16 and 17-runner handicaps.
Reid Added: “We don’t want customers to lose the concession
in these races with non-runners, so they will be chosen on a race-by-race
basis. We are also looking at offering betting to four places on selected
15-runner races.”
Phase II markets will be available to telephone and internet customers.
